the leaves are falling from the trees

I hear the houses moan and breathe

as the laughing wind flows through the streets

it whispers to me

the leaves rustle, crackle and crunch

animals scurry,hurry and munch

the crisp smell of winter gives me a hunch

Its coming for me

there are pumpkins on the stairs

i grab a hat ,a scarf, prepare

the cold raises up my hair

its waiting for me

winter is coming when all things die

i stand still and close my eyes

i know this time i will survive

it hears me
