dieing of poverty that was not your fault is sad indeed

She sits on the bench
And stares at the sky
The winter had frozen
the tears in her eyes
People hustle and bustle
She doesn't notice
as they walk by
She doesn't feel
The cold snow land
Dressed in her rags
That poverty has forced
onto her bone-like body
Hunger has faded
replaced by pain
Her last drink of clean water
Was the last time it rained
Her skin grows colder
The light grows brighter
Her soul starts to feel
a little lighter
Although she was tormented
By the devil
She never lost
Faith in god
And her reward for this,
this hell of a life
Is her eternal bliss
She feels a tug on her soul
as she floats higher and higher
Into the air
In the light she sees her mother
And crawls onto her arms
She who had faced this much pain
Was only fourteen when she died
