Serpents And Snakes

Poetry By: McHeaven McHeaven
Poetry

The original title of this piece was "Snake", written October 15, 1998. I changed the title because Snake already existed in Booksie.

**When a person seeks a clearer sense of self and an acceptable role in society.

As the silence of the night begins
I started to explore
Creeping on the ground
Behind closed doors
Defiance inside of me
Seemed to have no cure
In the dark

Insecurity is crawling in my skin
Could I stay before you
Within those cruel grin
Or should I hide myself
Behind those fading dreams
In the night

Lurk with me and stare
My dark spirited eyes
Grieve with my furious mourn
Sing my harmful cries

Counting down the dusts
Beneath your naked feet
Are you scared of me
Or am I forsaken?
I will never look up
To see the sun again
In this life

Stay with me and stare the moon
Sadness in my eyes
Grieve with my furious mourn
Sing my harmful cries
