Electron Wranglers

By M. E. Riddle

They are fleeting

They are millennium

We corral them

Into magnetic pens

Trapped in a flux

In a tangled fence.

In our minds' eye

They escape through slats

Only to condense

Into words of chance.

Words into rhymes

Alone in space

For all to witness

From our own special place.

When they leave

They are not begotten

Left on a page

Never forgotten.

They are time

They are rhyme

We wrangle electrons

And keep them alive.

Electron wranglers

Are keepers of mime

Held captive

By the passage of time.
