Hotels

By M. E. Riddle

Rooms for the homeless

Who have homes

And televisions

But borrow clones.

Foreign channels

In Fresno and Crestline

Nameless faces

At different times.

Lie back

In your borrowed bed

Wait for morning

Wait to be fed.

We live for an end

The time we spend

In hotel rooms

Waiting in bed.
