Ten little stars,

Spinning round your head

To tell you you'll go far

To tuck you into bed

Ten desired moments

Leaving you for dead

Devilish like sweetness

And speaking what was said.

In between the hours,

The minutes slink on by

Forgetting what was ours

Magenta rules our skies

I never have been sacred,

Never have been true

And though I tried to say it

I never loved you too

Now I'm a fleeting little nightlite

Flash, and then I'm gone

A toy to pass the time

And an opiate to some

Let never come to the always show

Let prayers slip and fill our mouths

Let babies cry, for heavens lost

Let no one ever know the cost

Let someone somewhere wish for me

Let all thats here be young and free

Let the simple solace of a first hello

Disolve into a sinful smile

Let the neutral colours that taint us so

Reap the consequences yet to sow

Let the distant suns and ravaged waves

Own each breath as we are saved.

Wow! Thankyou leesah. I kind of made it up on the spot, which I think is where the flow comes from, and as for the feel of a song...well I'm a songwriter, and a poem is just a song without music, so I think I bear that in mind everytime I write. I always appreciate your feedback leesah, thankyou very much!

Nice. I like the imagery and word choice.

Thanks Heather, I'm glad you like it. The themes and imagery crop up alot in my work, I just think they can be very powerful.

5 stars, brilliant. It was gripping and powerfull, and as lessah said, reads/flows in both ways. Got great meaning from this too!

Thanks SN, I'm glad you liked it. I was a bit of a made up on the spot one, which is probably where the flow came from. Thankyou!
