My childhood days passed so fast,
I once thought they would forever last.
The happiness, the glee, the joy,
All belonging to an inocent boy.
The laughter, the cheerful living,
In santa claus and the tooth fairy believing.
Wanting time to go by fast to grow,
Not realizing one day I would ask it to go by slow.
Finding pleasure in the simplest of things,
Delighting in the song a lonesome bird sings.
Thinking that childhood would last an eternity,
Not realizing someday it would only be a memory.
