I see the exit,
I walk towards it.
The doors now face me,
The outside now calls me.
I look back for a moment,
I see trails of wasted talent.
I see moments of agony,
A boy sitting quietly.
His face covered in tears,
His hands cover his ears.
He turns his sight towards me,
I move towards him slightly.
We engage in a fixed stare,
The truth we can't seem to bare.
We know each other well,
Yet only one can leave this hell.
A tear rolls down my face,
I am now an empty vase.
I turn away and walk away,
Walking slowly towards the doorway.
I stop at the doorway and look back,
The doorway begins to crack.
I waive farewell to the boy,
He now sits with his old worn-out toy.
The boy still crying waives back,
I then turn away and open the door-crack.
The boy is left behind in the past,
I am free at last!
