Silence Is Golden

A poem that I thought up when I remembered how so many parents had told their children that famous line. "Silence Is Golden"

Silence is golden,
That is what is always said,
Never wanting to hear the truth
Or the opinions of others.
Society trying to gain control,
Censoring the language
Humanity longs to speak,
To let their expression be known.
But those words are always hushed,
Never wanting to reveal
Those opinions that others have.
Yet it can never be stopped,
Voices being heard,
Those words revealed -
My words.
If spoken or written from the heavens above,
So all can feel the passion
Within the page,
We shall never be silenced.
No matter if it is
Something so philosophical,
Passionate, meaningful,
Or just the chance to say
I HAVE HAD ENOUGH
AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT!
Silence is golden,
Always believed by all.
But the only ones
It truly applies to,
Are those six feet in the ground?
As for me I live,
My mind explodes with the
Multitude of thoughts,
Yearning to be known.
Can you blame me?
I am after all -
Part of the human race.
