My Sins, My valley

Poetry By: Michael Barney

i find myself living in a place id rather not be..a world where my sins consume me and i lay dying, i cry out to be heard, to be saved yet again, am i to far gone, or am i just to self consumed?

Let this be my prayer to You
A cry of my heart to be renewed
For You are sovereign of my soul
And bondage is crying out for control

For in this valley
Hear my endless screams
My sins will destroy me
Or so it seems

My weakened soul longs for higher ground
I've lost what I have never found
Save this yearning spirit within me
For I remember a time when I could see clearly

Forsake me not I cry
Lift these demons from within
For I am living a lie
Devoured by my own sin

Father, you know my hardened heart
And I know You say You will never depart
I give unto you my every breathe
And my life to You until the death
