I’d Like to Think...
I’d like to think I’ve seen it all,
The good, the bad, the rises and the falls
I’d like to think I know everything there is to know
The wisdom of a lifetime, with many years to go
I’d like to think I’m viewed as being very wise
That I have the answers for all the tears you’ve cried
I’d like to think I’m one very smart guy
I figure out the problem; I figure out why
I’d like to think I have the answers for everything
I know where the party is, and just what to bring
I’d like to think my wisdom is complete
That there’s nothing more to learn, nothing left unseen
I’d like to think that, but I know the truth
Many more mysteries to solve; so much left to do
My life is a work in progress; things change, every day
I’d like to think there’s value in everything I say
I’d like to think I’m smart enough to realize
I’ll never stop learning; it’s foolish to think otherwise...
