I'm Lame, and Didn't Even Know It!; poem

I’m Lame, and Didn’t Even Know It!

Here I thought I was writing okay,

But I guess I’d be better off throwing my poems away!

I eagerly checked for comments left,

To see people’s reaction to the words I said

What I saw really opened my eyes

A belittling review from some self-important guy!

He didn’t like it, and wasn’t shy

About listing the reasons for said dislike

He said, “Here is the main reason, Mike

All of your poems are unmemorable

If these were available, they just wouldn’t sell!”

This guy fancies himself a reviewer of note,

I think he thinks so, but I don’t

What drives him to put other’s work down?

Maybe it’s the only talent that he's ever found!
