Bittersweet
It is a feeling like nothing else you’ve felt before
A strange emotion which defies all logic
It can leave you sky-high, or it can rip out your heart
Makes grown men cry, and youngsters say, ‘It's not for me!’
If you’ve never felt it, you will not understand
There’s no way you can explain the unexplainable
It’s been the best thing, and it’s been the worst
Caused emotional pain, and made me smile
Some of the dumbest things ever done, I did in its name
When I look back on it, I just shake my head in disgust
It’s almost like something outside myself had control
Made me do and say things that came from someone else
What is it, I hear you ask? ‘Love’ is the word
Such an innocent-sounding word, but it causes such turmoil
Four simple letters, but they may as well spell ‘crazy’
For that’s the way this simple word makes most of us act
L-O-V-E= bittersweet. It’s both the happiest,
and the most depressed you’re ever going to feel!
