No Idea
I’ve no idea if this idea will work at all
I’ll just start typing, and if I hit a brick wall
with my ideas, then I’ll just try a different way
of expressing myself; I’m going to finish this, today!
If one topic is not working, I’ll switch to something new,
and if I don’t like a certain line when I read it back through,
I’ll change it around, till, something’s a better fit,
until I’m happy with the way things sit
If a line is something way too obvious,
I’ll work it around, till the obviousness is less
If I’m doing traditional, I’ll make it rhyme
If it’s free verse, something that makes it stand out as a good line
Just so I’m satisfied is my only goal
Sharing with the reader a little bit of my soul
Some go on forever, and some are short and sweet
Just as long as the finished product meets
with my approval; will I call it done
Thinking up subjects to explore; that’s half the fun
