There was a Place
There was a place where I would go to relax
There was a place where my thought could run free
There was a place I used to drive to,
where I felt at peace in my frantic world
There was a place where I felt at home
There was a place I used to call my own
There was a place I used to go to concentrate
on creative things, where the outside world could be shut out
There was a place where time didn’t matter
There was a place where my troubles would disappear
There was a place, I’m not sure if it’s still there,
high up on a hillside, cleared long ago,
where the wind ruffled my hair, back when that was true
There was a place, a very special place,
a silent place for nothing but reflection
