Trying
Trying not to lose hope for the future of me
Trying to hold onto those things in which I believe
Trying not to let the dark thoughts take control
Trying to keep my head above water, it’s so very cold
Trying to make sense of what’s come to pass
Trying somehow to make a good mood last
Trying to be a friend to those in need
Trying not to listen to someone’s negative creed
Trying to forgive; trying to forget
Trying to be happy, at least for a bit
