Years at the Speed of Light
You look at the calendar and just can’t believe it,
Where did the time go, how did it disappear?
So much has changed, but you still think the same
You see the changes in those around you, and in the mirror,
but deep inside, everything’s as it always has been
You don’t like all the differences, but what can you do?
Dragged kicking and screaming into a brave new world
You feel so out of place, you feel so turned around
Days and years are gone in the blink of an eye
The calendar’s just a blur, as it marks the passing time
Just shake your head at the flying years, and hold on tight
This ride at a funhouse carnival charge us quite a lot
but this ride you can’t step off when you’re weary
This ride go on, and on, and on, speeding up if anything
All-too-soon the carnival will close, so you’d better look around
