Poetry By: Mike Stevens

The creative process; I know I've been over this ground before, but it a subject that interests me!

Something Out of Nothing

Sit here staring at a blank computer screen

Imagining it filled with profound sayings and words

Have no idea about of what I'm going to write

Ideas ebb and flow; some will stay, some will go

Write about a subject, then I quickly will delete,

Because I've nothing to add or say,

Or frustration sets in, because I cannot make my point

Jarring bits of words, that don't fit with my imagination

Trail and error, start again; go in a totally different direction

Ever so slowly, the page reflects my thoughts

Painstakingly slow, the final results always are

But I'll finally get there, my vision come to life

Something that I'm proud to put my name upon
