Subjects to Failure
Trying something I’ve never tried before
Trying to crash a party by breaking down the door
A fragment of imagination turned into words on a page
Everything from my happiness, to my rage
are transcribed for the world to see
Anything that means a lot to me
Subjects to failure; those are my topics
Could soar on the wind, or fall like a brick
My soul is laid bare; my heart on my sleeve
I use words to make my case, or simply to plead
I don’t paint on a canvas but I want to make the meaning clear
By telling everyone of my hopes and of my fears,
you all might understand me better than I understand myself
because for so long they grew dusty upon the shelf
More often than not, I’m learning just like you
I find surprising answers, I find some important clue
Things long locked up inside, but now coming to light
Through my writings, it’s almost like a second sight
