The Circus Comes to Town
Just sit back and enjoy the greatest show on cable
Try to keep your popcorn down; that is if your able
Clowns dressed up like politicians, amaze us all
With their unbelievable-sounding stories, mostly tall
Yes, they tell unbelievable stories; through the megaphone of the press
Just what is the truth, is anybody’s guess
Flying bulls**t fills the circus air
And a clown who tells the truth is extremely rare
Once you’re seated, there’s no money back
“Dance with the clown who you bought,” is sadly the fact;
The motto of the lobbyists who seek to entertain
With the untruths they tell, and over load your brain
Next, come the jugglers, and they juggle truth
Tell you who to vote for, and what you should do
About the problem of one side or the other,
Until you’re so mad; “Get those mothers!”
They sell a fantasy; nothing to do with reality
“If you want it the right way, vote for me!”
Congress is turned into a three-ringed tent,
Where clowns run the show, who scream about what they really meant!
