The Election of 1612
There was a group of men, who knew right, and knew better
So they picked a candidate who believed as they
Women needed to be told; after all, they were women!
Nothing would be tolerated that went against what they’d been taught
And so they were set on undoing anything perceived as a threat
Supposedly, big government; they were against
But this was different; this cause was just
Using government to impose their will
Was okay, because they knew they were right!
Never mind if the citizens thought something different,
What did they know? And separation of church and State?
They laughed at the notion; after all, they knew everything
Wait a minute, what did I say? 1612?
I meant 2012!
