World Passed By
How and when did it happen?
One minute you’re young and know all the answers,
The next you’ve aged and become invisible
The world must have passed by while you were sleeping
T.V. shows aimed at 16 year olds
Once, it was you in their cross hairs
Now you’re 50 though, and feeling irrelevant
I know, I know, I shouldn’t feel this way,
And usually I don’t, but it seems like a young person’s game
You know you’re getting old when the athletes and actors
You see all look like kids, and the young don’t relate to you, or you to them
Seems like only yesterday, I started up the hill.
Now I’m nearer to the top than the bottom,
So many scars inside and out I’ve collected along the way,
So many battles I’ve won and lost,
So many mistakes I’ve made,
That I want to warn people away from,
But sometimes I feel like The Invisible Man
