Birds! (Birds!)

Poetry By: minusthematt

Scatter minded-ness. Narrator deals with a "distraction".

Comments/reads/suggestions appreciated.

It's an impossible task when birds are constantly flying through your windows.
They make a mess of things; clawing the furniture, tearing things open.
Well if these birds would just vanish, disappear, fly in ANOTHER WINDOW.
….Maybe I'd have some peace. Maybe with that peace I could..
The possibilities here are so endless now.
I can't hold back my own excitement!
No birds! Hah! Let's see anything hold me down now!
I'll get ALL my equipment: some pencils, a cool drink, my most comfortable socks!
You know the rest of it too..
And I'll sit here, windows open; doors open; MIND OPEN! No birds to fly around whistling; humming; whatever the hell birds do.
I know damn well what they do! To hell with those birds!
Shit I might even go outside! I'll climb some god damn trees!
I could take my trees back without those birds! Think of...
Hammocks?! Climbing!? Hanging from those branches?
That sounds so much more than sitting here
In this sweating room with its sweating walls
Trying to work. Work!? With these birds?!
I'll go outside and CARVE MY NAME in the trees!
I would get so much more done.
Really, people would want to know: "Hey just what is your secret?"--- NO BIRDS!
I would be a phenomenon; an absolute celebrity.
Think of it! Think of this life!
A life without those birds!
