A rose petal would fall

Might the sigh that befall

The girl on the balcony

In the insufferable agony

That she would let the tear drop

In fear that she might not stop?

The leaves may fall,

In a world to end it all

That the boy in swing

Might hear a bird sing

He could wish to hear it again

But you never will, my friend.
