Ask me what a woman is and I write down my feelings. Here they are "Women".

We are the ones who live the lie
from sunup till sundown.
The comforters of babies that cry
wearers of the crooked crown.

Our job is seldom an easy one.
Seems it gets harder day to day.
Yet we keep on working until we're done
and we never run away.

We are the ones who tend the scrapes
and kiss the cuts tenderly.
We don the mask and attach the capes
and do things others never see.

By virtue we are often selected
to execute each dreary chore.
From birth we seem to be elected
to that station to do more.

We are the ones to tend the fires
and the ones who cook the meal.
We are at times overcome by life's mires
no matter how we feel.

Some of us are mothers and wives
and the rest of us might work.
We give freely of our too full lives
and our duty we won't shirk.

We are the better part of man
that softer, inner part.
We are an integral piece of God's plan.
We are the keepers of the heart.
