breathing in deep to swallow its calm
close your eyes, smell the night
worlds eons away at your finger tips,
if you can reach further into the black
tree sways in a breeze, catch your breath
chill of night sets in and you shiver with life
pale light of the moon lights your path
climb down, lungs full of peace
reach for your covers, pull them over your head
smile to yourself in your sleep-away spot
under the sky, that you hold in your hands,
dream your sweet dreams of the stars in your eyes
the moon as your lantern, the sky your blanket
behind your eyes dreams of evergreens,
