Words that traveled for miles reached me a little late
The message, never-changing, is always the same
“Won't you sit and wait for my return?”
I've seen a thousand faces in this parade
Instigating all that I repress
Yes, I've seen a thousand faces come and go
When the light dims and it's hard to see
When the air is thick and it's hard to breathe
I reach out for the echo of your alluring vows
and hold onto any fragment of them that I can catch
I locked the gates to the outside
I have buried love out in the yard
Because so I've promised the invisible voice
The years that passed, I underestimated
And it's been hiding in the ground for so long
Seems I've forgotten exactly where
When diligence crumbles and I can't stand still
When the loss of meaning translates to disbelief
I question myself, your words, and our intentions
and wonder, why am I still holding on?
