That Which I Killed in the Dark

Poetry By: mkkrinler

A small piece to a larger story "Ish". The first half is complete, the second half is still being edited.

Each passing day leaves me in fear

That which I killed in the dark was never found

I never saw it but knew its hands around my neck

With such a large rock

One should have thought anything to die

Purple horizons I now face

Bare trees void of life or leaf

Every snapping branch leaves me breathless

By candle every night I stand ready

Ready for that which I thought I killed

For I know its mind

And it calls for my blood
