You stole my heart the day we met,

So many years have passed since then.

You filled my heart with joy each time I saw you smile,

So many months have passed since then.

You ripped my heart from within me, still beating in your hand,

So many weeks have passed since then.

You threw my heart on the ground like a forgotten toy into the mud and filth,

So many days have passed since then.

You trampled on my heart with the heal of your perfect foot, shattered and dead,

So many hours have passed since then.

You walked away from my broken heart and found another to call your own,

So many minutes have passed since then.

And still my heart lies broken, shattered and torn.

And time ticks on.
