Walls of anguish, roof of pain
Do not protect, from acid rain
Floors of mud, on which you slide
Foundations cracking, deep inside
Caustic anger deep within
Barely contained by fragile skin
Emotions bubbling, boiling hot
Contorting minds into a knot
Bodies twisted by their grief
When death entered, like a thief
Strongest houses, weakest huts
Broken down with vicious cuts
Howling banshees from the sea
Pulling pushing at sanity
Breaking down all that’s safe
Throwing death in our face
Tornadoes twisting through the mind
Taking away the peace we find
Clouds of doubt so thick and grey
Hiding hope so far away
The wings of death, opened wide
Cause the storms of grief inside
With our bodies cracked and frail
These stormy years, are ours to sail.
