a feather lost

perhaps misplaced
a traveler
in time and space
the bird has flown
a part was tossed
although once owned
a feather lost
a feather lost
but still in flight
it wandered left
it wandered right
although the fowl
denied the cost
unwise the owl
a feather lost
a feather lost
a silver plume
the sky provides
the spacious room
a child at play
a mother crossed
in disarray
a feather lost
a feather lost
to be replaced
a thing of style
a thing of grace
a rush of wind
a holocaust
without a friend
a feather lost
a feather lost
a wondrous thing
a fiber of
a muscled wing
it cuts and weaves
the airwaves flossed
the mother grieves
a feather lost
a feather lost
to roam the air
exploring here
exploring there
it leaves no trace
in it's exhaust
as light as lace
a feather lost
