simple as pi

i've always sought a simple girl

i've found that trait in you
and what makes up a simple girl ?
i've really thought it through
as simple as the chemicals
that fill our bodies' tubes
or like a dozen blind men
who are solving rubik's cubes
as simple as the formula
that God used to create
or tricks the little fledglings use
when they first navigate
as simple as the password
to the world's genetic code
or how to talk to atoms
and convince them to explode
as simple as a dance
where all the decimals repeat
or writing down, in japanese
the works of proust, complete
as simple as the universe
that shrinks as it expands
or playing mozart's symphonies
with only rubber bands
i've always sought a simple girl
i've really thought it through
my life's become quite easy now
by simply loving you
