alibis and lullabies

they'll get you by each time
they're both there for appeasing
there's a reason that they rhyme
an alibi means "somewhere else"
you're safe when you're accused
a lullaby's for healing
when your thoughts become confused
an alibi's a haven, yes
a peaceful cozy loft
a lullaby is like a bridge
with images so soft
an alibi will put to sleep
a notion you've done crime
a lullaby's an ocean
which you'll slowly into, climb
an alibi can save you
from the trouble you deny
a lullaby's a bubble
which you hide inside and fly
an alibi uncovers you
when shifted down too deep
a lullaby's a lover
who can drift you into sleep
alibis and lullabies
will get things off you chest
and looking at the clock, i see
it's time for me to rest
