stuck inside these four walls
convent-bound together
never seeing no one....mighty grim
they're blue....solemn...blue...solemn...blue

clad forever in dowdy gear
holy livin', their only way
not a bit of hilarity
all they did was sing hymns all day
then they severed their doubts and fear
and they started to rock in here

well, the drums exploded with a mighty crash
and the gals began to strum
and the first nun said to the second one there
let's knock 'em on their buns
band of the nuns...band of the nuns
those precious lambs...kicked out the jams
they'd never had such fun
gnarly band of the nuns...band of the nuns
gnarly band of the nuns...band of the nuns

well, the ones in charge here drew a heavy sigh
their superiors were glum
cause the halls were ringin' with a guitar's blare
as the amplifier hummed
band of the nuns...band of the nuns
and they wailed and sung...regaled, they swung
twas attitude, they brung
gnarly band of the nuns...band of the nuns
dig this band of the nuns...band of the nuns
band of the nuns...band of the nuns

well, the crowds came callin' just to see these girls
the news had got around
there were thousands searching for that convent there
inundated, was the town
band of the nuns...band of the nuns
number one, they're judged...but they won't budge
they'll stay for ever more
in the land of the nuns...band of the nuns
band of the nuns...band of the nuns
