oh lovely chomolungma
to your summit, some go questing
to reach the planet's greatest height
near heaven to be resting
the oxygen is thin there
and the mind and lungs are starving
so rare to reach the pinnacle
that nature formed, while carving
for all the souls who made it
there were hundreds that were lacking
for you are fond of privacy
and cold to those attacking
oh lovely chomolungma
you're the world's sweet goddess mother
you wear the crown that crests the earth
for it could have no other
