you let your mind just wander

try to ponder up a rhyme
but words are just not linking
you sit, blinking, wasting time
.
the blackboard you were chalking
is now mocking you instead
seems poems are out of season
there's no reason in your head
.
words can't be traced by fingers
on a patch of dry cement
sometimes creative juices
must be left to just ferment
.
the ink that was just flowing
is not going anywhere
instead of an equation
it's evasion, cold and bare
.
the lines that once ran crazy
grow as lazy as a sloth
the alphabet, once soupy
now a goopy tasteless broth
.
you've sniffed the flowers often
now they've seemed to lost their scent
sometimes creative juices
must be left to just ferment
.
the drive that once was eager
is now meager, sad to say
you cannot glimpse the rapture
that you captured yesterday
.
as much as you are wishing
you are fishing with no bait
you find your soul is wailing
as you're failing to create
.
you're searching for a signal
but your aerial is bent
sometimes creative juices
must be left to just ferment
