our TV shows were black and white

no colors yet to bloom
remote control unheard of then
we walked across the room
if we prepared to travel
had no GPS, just maps
computers filled up buildings then
when now they fill up laps
i say yabba dabba don't
as technology's unfurled
i feel like freddie flintstone
in a georgie jetson world
we never got to google
we just had these giant tomes
that salesmen sold our moms and dads
then brought them to our homes
our photos we could never see
until the drug store man
returned them from a far off lab
and slapped them in our hand
i say yabba dabba don't
as technology's unfurled
i feel like freddie flintstone
in a georgie jetson world
the telephone would ring and ring
when we were not at home
we never knew if someone called
when we would choose to roam
our music came from spinning plates
with scratches, pops and clicks
or even worse, repeating skips
impossible to fix
i say yabba dabba don't
as technology's unfurled
i feel like freddie flintstone
in a georgie jetson world
the games we played used bats and balls
not buttons, knobs and sticks
we used imagination
and not generated tricks
so all of this new gadgetry
just makes my poor head spin
quite different from the stone age world
that i knew way back when
i say yabba dabba don't
as technology's unfurled
i feel like freddie flintstone
in a georgie jetson world
