inside myself , there's always been

a factory of joy
when life became a nasty game
i'd treat it as a toy
.
i kept the world perplexed
by sporting mona lisa's smile
i laughed at tribulations
and i breezed through every trial
.
though my life was stitched together
i survived despite its flaws
i once was glad in spite of
now i'm happy just because
.
i never looked behind
when there were foes behind my back
a sword of sharp sarcasm
keep me safe from their attack
.
i held myself together
as they blew themselves apart
i always kept my balance
with a firm grasp on my heart
.
a cat , i was, a -tumbling
always landing on my paws
i once was glad in spite of
now i'm happy just because
.
i was so good at detaching
things in life that didn't fit
and this way kept my sanity
in spite of all of it
.
my logic and my reason
were the mainstays of my craft
when life played heinous jokes on me
i turned around and laughed
.
a child can still love christmas
disbelieving santa claus
i once was glad in spite of
now i'm happy just because
