nothing, really

i wrote a poem for nothing

and by that i don't mean free
i mean the subject's nothing
and what nothing means to me
the hypothesis of nothing
is so difficult to grasp
like trying to make heads or tails
from some gyrating asp
yes, God made man from nothing
and the nothingness shows through
and when God's had his fill of us
there's nothing we can do
we oft times say that nothing's right
by that, we mean it's bad
and when we say that nothing's wrong
it means that we are glad
sometimes when you say nothing
it's because you're hiding facts
sometimes when you feel nothing
it's in order to relax
in mathematics, nothing is
the zero, if you please
which seems to be the midpoint
of two vast infinities
in china, they say "mu", i'm told
if nothing is their view
so chinese cows mean nothing
if you hear them utter "mu"
i guess that wraps up nothing
nothing's still a mystery
so i've accomplished nothing
ain't that something ? not to me
