its often said a picture

is worth thousandfold a word
but i suggest it might be best
to contemplate a third
do pictures grasp the splendor
of a lover's gentle sigh ?
or written words, the arcs of birds
that bend their wings on high ?
thus man invented music
with a magic of it's own
to gently weave what we perceive
and make our feelings known
the swell of sweeping violins
the longing of the horn
the rise and fall of heaven's call
into our souls is born
the melody unfolding
is a message that's addressed
directly to the heart of you
and perfectly expressed
