my poor mind had felt so cluttered
thoughts were bouncing 'round my noggin
i knew i had to let them slide
just like a wild toboggan
it was poems inside me huddled
they were crying for its freedom
and so i wandered through my mind
to search them out and lead them
for i'm ill if i am stifled
i have thoughts that need revealing
a poem must be out on parade
all joyful, mad and squealing
if you sense you may be sneezing
it may not be just pneumonia
just scribble out your remedy
you're suffering from newpoemnia
