she lived in greece
and worked in oils
she paints a frieze
her temper boils
her art was hung

both deaf and dumb
the ocean bed
the blanket waves
the little fish
asleep in caves
the web is spun
the yarn is told
the story's done
the barn is cold
i live on laughs
i drink at dives
i raised giraffes
they all got hives
a curtain falls
a kitten springs
a headless doll
forever sings
the window cracked
the door ajar
a heart attacked
without a scar
the corn is popped
the flag is dipped
the tank is topped
the hat is tipped
this poem is long
and makes no sense
this poem is wrong
and now past tense
