life had been a daily struggle

every day, a page just torn
then into my life, you snuggled
since that day i've been reborn
as i walk across the desert
you will be my socks and shoes
for you are my life preserver
in an ocean full of blues
life had been a mindless shuffle
quite pedestrian in stance
then into my life you ruffled
at that point, i learned to dance
you will be my shining beacon
when the clouds of doubt confuse
for you are my life preserver
in an ocean full of blues
life had formed a listless rhythm
repetition with no verve
but you caused a cataclysm
your infusion touched a nerve
of the million constellations
you're the guiding star i choose
for you are my life preserver
in an ocean full of blues
life had been a pond so stagnant
with no path for it to run
but you drew me like a magnet
like a flower to the sun
i had missed but had not known you
since you've joined me, i can't lose
for you are my life preserver
in an ocean full of blues
