there was blackness in my mirrors
all the road signs were erased
far horizons drew no nearer
desperation daily, faced
but you've made my life more dearer
with your loving warm embrace
and my path is so much clearer
my perspective's been replaced
on a road too slick to travel
with my traction undermined
your sweet love's become my gravel
now my actions are defined
when the rain and snow are flurried
and the streets become unlined
i am steady and unworried
i'm controlled by peace of mind
i've a smooth acceleration
that my confidence now brings
and a wild exhilaration
like a kite on swirling strings
with the wind in ears, unwinding
its a rhapsody it sings
and the freedom its unbinding
turns my frozen wheels to wings
