the ad said he could order time
could such a thing be true ?
to bend the crystal movement
slow things down to think them through
to make the sun fly up
just like a runaway balloon
one moment, fields of brilliant stars
then blaze of afternoon
to have a life, eternal
grains of sand between one's toes
the master of the moon
and all the ocean's ebbs and flows
the river, quick and speeding
now reduced to gentle pond
a frozen special moment
just before the morning dawned
a long examination
of the path with winding crook
the power to turn back a page
to have a closer look
or spin the clock back all the way
to some primeval scene
at that point he discovered
they just meant a magazine
