when i was just an embryo
i started getting hip
about where i'd be headed
when at last i jumped this ship

the organs of my hearing
head the organs of the church
i felt that i was baptized
in the fluids where i lurched

if i didn't grasp the language
more or less i got the clue
of the preacher's exclamations
as i squatted in the pew

surrounded by tranquility
i swam in seas of love
while learning of the wondrousness
of heaven up above

my mind filled up with knowledge
as my body was unfurled
so anxious for the day
when i'd be tossed into the world

although i'm not quite born yet
i've no fear about the tomb
it's so easy to find peace
when taught religion in the womb
