i got crackers in my eyes because of sleepin'
those big ol' crumbs distort my point of view
and there's salt in those big crumbs because of weepin'
and the reason that i'm so upset is you
i got those saltine cracker blues
they're building up and i can't snooze
cause you turned the knob and pushed me out the door
and its thrown me for a loop
it ain't the crackers made for soup
just a crusty ol' reminder what's no more
i attempted takin' pills, no, not for dyin'
just the kind that make ya wanna close your eyes
but they sadly didn't work so i stopped tryin'
all they did was make me see blue butterflies
i got those saltine cracker blues
and i've been drinkin' lots of booze
but all it does is make me more morose
i am so darn tired of brine
leakin' from these ducts of mine
i think i have a lacrim'l overdose
i could rub them from my eyes and clear my vision
but i cannot rub your image from my mind
i still can see your face with fine precision
yes, even if my crusty eyes went blind
i got those saltine cracker blues
its not the snack i care to choose
and the tickin' clock is like a metronome
just like my broken heart
it could stop and not restart
cause it makes no difference since you left my home
