a fish, polite, may tip it's scales
a salmon sandwich ? fun to chew
piranhas make a meal of you
anchovies spoil a pizza pie
although some choose to pile them high
some fish, when served, still have a head
while some like blow fish, kill you dead
a sculpin's sculptured like mad art
a darter's never thrown a dart
a halibut is nice and flat
an eel, more like a baseball bat
there's angelfish and devils too
a fin of yellow, fin of blue
a lungfish has both lungs and gills
a tarpon tests your fishing skills
a garibaldi's bald as hell
a puffer fish with pride, will swell
there's lion fish and tigers, known
the bear fish sadly, hasn't shown
some fish are caught from holes in ice
and then served hot with piles of rice
forget the jelly and the star
they ain't the fish you think they are
