there was this handsome fellow
and he met this pretty girl
and he found her so enchanting
that it left his heart a-twirl

she told him ballroom dancing
wasn't what she chose to do
she didn't like the circus
and she didn't like the zoo

she mentioned that she fancied
just a simple picnic spread
with lots of yummy edibles
like fruit and meat and bread

he thought this sounded perfect
back to nature for a while
with a pretty girl beside him
with a bright and sunny smile

"and we'll invite my ants", she said
his mouth turned upside down
he really didn't want a bunch
of biddies hanging 'round

but he found this lass so charming
that he thought he'd take a chance
and he told her "yes indeedy...
we can go pick up your aunts"

"oh, we wouldn't have to get them...
they've a farm up in the woods...
right by my favorite picnic grounds...
they'll show up when they should"

so he picked her up on sunday
and a luncheon she'd prepared
she guided him into the woods
a banquet, then, was shared

he started getting drowsy
all that food and too much wine
he found himself just nodding off
right after they had dined

he woke up badly startled
found his body tethered down
and networks of tight roping
left him helpless on the ground

the pretty girl looked down at him
a sick grin on her face
"i'm glad you came along with me...
to this enchanted place"

"this is where i have my ant farm...
and they're such a hungry brood...
a picnic's not enough for them...
they simply need more food"

"and so i doctored up your wine
and when you finally dozed
i tied you to the ground
and sprinkled honey, head to toes"

he saw the ants approaching
at a most alarming pace
it resembled a black blanket
that soon covered up his face
