a man once thought he'd take his life
he figured, "what's the diff ?"
he tied a boulder 'round his neck
and jumped right off a cliff
but he knew that things, troublesome
were likely to transpire
so just to make sure things went well
he set himself on fire
but being so meticulous
he had another hunch
and fixed himself some poisoned food
and had it for his lunch
but even with the boulder
and the fire and poison fed
he also grabbed a pistol
and he aimed it at his head
the bullet that he aimed went wild
and shot away the rope
and so the boulder was released
and took away that hope
the jump was over water, though
and so to pass, it came
the moisture of the river
then extinguished out the flame
but he still had the poison
in his stomach to erupt
but the shock of chilly water
sadly, made him throw it up
discovered in the river
by two hikers, happenstance
they quickly called up 9-1-1
to bring an ambulance
the paramedics took him
to the city in quick flight
he croaked from hypothermia
so things worked out alright
so even if you're finding
things don't go the way they should
pure luck will sometimes find you
and the outcome will be good
